|
| Ziggy was born on August 1, 1995 and I
lost him on May 23, 2009. |
| This page is devoted to his precious memory... |

Our family photo from 1998 with me, Roy, Reebok (Ziggy's best friend)
and Ziggy. |

Ziggy loved Christmas!
He always got his FAVORITE Tootsie Rolls from both sets of "grandparents".
Someone told me after I lost him that at the Rainbow Bridge Tootsie's
and S-O-N-I-C's would be everywhere (around here we had to spell Sonic
for fear of a pug riot!).

Everyone kind of remembered Ziggy as an
"old man" in the booth! But he was a funny, crazy little
pug when he was young. I got him in Sept of 1995 when I owned a Tanning
Salon called "Tan Without Sand". He went to work with me
everyday and made people laugh!

Here's a pictures of him...

|

Here's Ziggy in the bag of towels. He loved getting in the towels
that I had to fold, stirring them up and falling asleep a lot of
times.
|

Here's me and Ziggy...
I've gotten several emails over the years telling me they never saw
the love and devotion between a dog and person as strong as Ziggy
and myself.
The boy loved his mama and his mama loved him!!!!! |
| |
I bought him as a pet but my mom convinced
me to show him
and he got his Championship in 7 mos when he was 2. |
|

In 1999 we decided to take up Agility. Not many people remembered
Ziggy doing Agility. The A-frame was tough for him so we didn't do
it very long....he just did it cuz I asked him to....just like everything
else he did....it was for me! |
| |
Ziggy was my constant companion from the time I got him
in September 1995 at 7 weeks old. He came to work at Tan Without Sand
and he went everywhere with me.
He started Christi's Canine Cafe with me in 1999 and probably had
traveled to more states in the country than most 2-legged people had!
|
|

In 1998 when my Dad lived in Belize, Central America, Roy, Ziggy &
I went there for a vacation.
When we landed in Belize, here's Ziggy getting out of the Sherpa bag
(yes, he fit in it at one point) |
Ziggy snorkeling with me. He LOVED the water...if there was a puddle
after the rain, Ziggy was like a piglet in it! In Key West he walked
right into the water. He loved boating too! |
| |
Ziggy was known as the "Wal Mart greeter" at
The Canine Cafe at shows. Sometimes people thought he was a statue.
Here are some pictures of him...

...what he became known for in his senior years...snoozing in his
chair... |
| Before my mom died in 2005, she had been
on me for a couple years to get another pug. I did that in January
2006 as the call came to me on my mom's birthday so I knew it was
a sign. We added Raz to our pug family. Ziggy wasn't fond of him for
about the first year but they then became as thick as anything I have
ever seen. Raz was Ziggy's caretaker since he had gone deaf and blind
and Raz kept Ziggy young. I now know that Raz was sent to me and Ziggy
and that Raz was "in training" for almost 4 years. Ziggy
was not going anywhere until he taught Raz how to care for me and
love me in the true Ziggy fashion that I had grown accustomed to.
Only when Raz was ready, was Ziggy going to leave me in his hands.
And that he did.....

(Ziggy was 12 and Raz was just a little over a year).
|
|
Ziggy & Raz at Clarksville dog show in 2008.
Ziggy was bound and determined to get off his chair and out in the
booth to enjoy the sun. Raz laid down beside him. To me this was
classic Ziggy telling Raz how to do something and Raz listening.
It is proof to me that Raz was "in training" with ZigMan!
|

I miss my sweet, sweet man so so much!
His love for me was overwhelming!
He was such a distinguished stately man.
I have added his pendant of ashes to mom's pawprint of ashes on
my chain that I never take off. They are now both always close to
my heart. When I told my aunt "I hope mom isn't mad that Ziggy
is partially covering her" her response was "Ziggy isn't
covering your mom, your mom is holding him until you get there to
see him".
Two people gave me sayings that I loved on their emails after I
had to let Ziggy go. The first one is "the hole in your heart
you feel is the piece of your heart that Ziggy took so he'd always
know he'd have your love". And the other person said "it
is Raz's time to shine and carry Ziggy's torch".
So be it....I love you Ziggy and Raz will carry your torch and you
will never be forgotten! You were so loved by so many! Mom please
take care of my handsome man until I see you both again soon!
|
 |
| |
And the last one is one that I have to believe is the
case at the Rainbow Bridge! My mom is looking after Ziggy and he is
sitting on her lap until I get there. My mom picked Ziggy out as a
baby for me and he loved her! And they are both enjoying the sun and
water like they always did! |
